I would urge Beano artists to stay faithful to the original style and personality of the original creators, including its the lines and details and other artistic conventions, as Beano and Dandy represent something like a pop cultural institution. I'm all for creative freedom, but a the style of the Beano is something distinct. For instance, I wouldn't be a fan of a Manga Dennis the Menace, although it might turn out to be a good drawing, it's not Beano. The same things apply for Disney, a Manga Mickey Mouse or even Rapunzel wouldn't cut the mustard. When something works well and is unique it's best not to mess with it.
ps. your designs for the Bash Street Kids are fantastic.
Definitely Steve Beckett for Minnie the Minx!
Thanks again for your support.[link]
I'd like to see you draw either Minnie, General Jumbo or Dennis the Menace for the Beano....
Can't wait to see Daredevil Dad in the Dandy!
